What’s Lit Pre-Workout?
GNC is known to be the leading manufacturer of pre-workout supplements and its most popular product by far is the LIT supplement.
It is a training and non-training supplement that promises to deliver additional focus and energy as it is clinically formulated with Nitric Oxide and Beta-Alanine for increased function and performance during workouts.
It is a 7-ingredient replacement to its former flagship product, Savage. This is essentially an upgrade product!

Is Lit Pre Workout Vegan?
With its sugar-free and Gluten-free formula that is perfect for diet, LIT may seem to be vegan-friendly, however, it is not clearly stated whether its contents are synthesized or not based on animal by-products.
LIT does not claim to be vegan either, plus its flavors come in both natural and artificial, so I wouldn’t really consider it to be purely raw and made out of natural ingredients.
It is very impressive though that this is a non-proprietary blend, meaning that what you see in its label is what you get out of it. No hidden substances or formulas.
No secrets at all.But in general, it wouldn’t really matter whether it is vegan or not for there is no proven efficiency yet in vegan pre-workouts. Research according to PubMed says:
There is a limited supply of sport nutrition supplements currently available for vegan or vegetarian athletes. In addition, the efficacy of a vegan or vegetarian supplement that does not contain any processed substances or stimulants is currently unknown.
So whether it is vegan or not, it’s not really much of a big deal.
Ingredients in Beyond Raw Lit and What They Do / Nutrition Label
There are 7 ingredients to this pre-workout, namely:
- 1Beta-Alanine
- 2Creatine
- 3Caffeine
- 4ElevATP
- 5Coffee Fruit Extract
- 6L-Citrulline
- 7Nitrosigine
It is very clear and it is what it is! They even quoted, “If It’s On Our Labels, Then It’s In Our Bottles.” But let’s go one by one what each ingredient can actually do.
CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine 3.2 g
Beta-Alanine is responsible for improving muscle performance and muscle power output.
When I first tried using LIT, I had some tingling feelings and I thought that was weird. But it was actually because of this ingredient.
Micronized Creatine (as Creatine Monohydrate) 1.5 g
Creatine helps in increasing muscle size and strength. This is a common ingredient as it is needed for endurance and is beneficial for harder and longer training sessions.
Caffeine Anhydrous 250 mg
Caffeine is known to boost energy levels and increase mental focus and is a standard component for all supplements. I like that this product has a very high amount of caffeine and I can really feel its effects.
elevATP (Ancient Peat & Apple Extract) 150 mg
This is a bit similar to Creatine as it improves energy levels and increases muscle growth and performance. I think it is great that this is an additional ingredient to boost endurance.
Beyond Raw NeuroFactor Coffee Fruit Extract 100 mg
It’s said to improve brain function and focus, so make sure that you get the right motivation during your workouts.
Pump & N.O. Support 4.5 g
L-Citrulline 3 g
This helps in boosting the production of Nitric oxide in the body, which in turn helps the better circulation of blood (blood flow) in your body and improved energy and better athletic performance.
Nitrosigine (Arginine Silicate Inositol) 1.5 g
This is where you get the pumps from. This ingredient helps in the metabolism of fat and the release of growth hormones.
Does Beyond Raw Lit Have DMAA?
LIT ingredients are pretty much good and safe but this probably has crossed your mind.
Well, to those who might not know, DMAA (1,3-dimethylamylamine) is a banned substance and is considered not a dietary ingredient.
Taking DMAA results in increased blood pressure and leads to serious cardiovascular problems. Any DMAA-containing products marketed as dietary supplements are illegal and their marketing violates the law, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Fortunately, based on my research, the LIT does not contain such substance and is still true to its ingredient label.
Taste and Flavors
Some products come with unpleasant taste and textures but LIT stands out with its different flavors:
Feel free to choose any among the flavors but my personal choice is the Gummy Worm and Icy Fireworks!
Is Beyond Raw a Good Brand?
Beyond Raw is an exclusive product line owned by GNC, the same as the AMP series. Their products are popular and promoted heavily, by GNC employees to promote its brand. Even though its products receive good feedback, there are many better products available to buy in this space.
Is it OK to Take Pre Workout Everyday?
For the time being, it is OK to take this compound before a workout as a total-body preworkout. However, it will be too much if you workout harder than three times a week. So be careful before taking this compound. In general, training on it is ok as long as you don’t use it more than three days a week. But, if you are having a bad leg day, then it is ok to take this compound as your preworkout. One of the things that helped a lot with my training routine and performance was taking a pre workout every day, whether it was a big meal or I just had my first serving of protein powder or a protein shake. The thought of exercising and your body having to expend all that energy just to get you to your full potential is really difficult.
It’s one of the reasons that I would recommend taking a meal preworkout and supplement if you are really short on time and you have a lot of things to get done in a day. Protein is a great way to keep your body in that kind of energy state and you don’t need to burn through that energy. You don’t need to expend so much energy to get your body there. Nutri – Trim Powder is one of those good products that you can get the whole family excited about. It is only 50 calories for 1 serving. You can make your own preworkout shakes for yourself or to get your kids excited about it, you can make it a lot of different things like a protein shake with carrots or orange juice or anything you want to. The important thing to note is that it is low in sugar, so if you are looking for a product that has some sweetness in it, this isn’t it. I like to make mine with protein powder and a banana.
Does Lit Pre-Workout Have Creatine in It?
No. Lifestyle Tested: No. There are a ton of products out there with different creatine claims and claims that are not even close to being true. A product like this should never make a claim that something it doesn’t contain. The Nourishing Metabolism Multi-Vitamins that claim to have Creatine in it have some creatine, but nowhere near what was claimed. The company even changed its claims page to clearly state there are no added ingredients in the product! Caution: If you do get creatine in a product you got without your knowledge or consent, you can report it to the FDA. You can also call them or click this link to report potential abuse.
Does Lit Pre-Workout Build Muscle?
It is an excellent choice for people who work out early in the morning and intend to go out for the night. Although it is widely suggested that people work out for an hour and then engage in an exercise session to burn the remainder of the energy, Lit Pre-Workout is a great option for anyone who works out before work or after work.
It is a powerful pre-workout that you can drink just before you go to the gym. The formula is the same as in the regular Lit Pre-Workout. It contains the same blend of ingredients and is the only difference that it is pre-workout. The pre-workout formula is a synergistic blend of vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates, which are necessary for energy production and are known to improve your performance at the gym. The pre-workout formula is an ideal way to boost your energy before you go for a workout session.

When Should You Take Lit Pre Workout?
There are quite a few things you should take into account before using lit workout. Here is a list of a few items: It’s one thing to do light or moderate resistance training to start with, but it’s a whole other thing to start a new exercise routine with light or moderate resistance training to continue with! It’s not at all uncommon to gain muscle fatigue after just a few sets, and that’s due to your body releasing growth hormones.
It’s also normal to experience a reduction in strength once you’ve built some muscle. Also, while it’s not uncommon to gain weight, it’s also not common to lose any weight while using lit workouts. There are a few ways to train at light or moderate resistance levels without also stressing your body to the point of failure. You might want to try using lit workouts to just “fill in” the days where you aren’t doing more challenging forms of exercise like Olympic lifting, bodybuilding, or bodyweight lifting. You might want to go on a two-week bodybuilding fast to force your body to focus on building muscle mass.
Benefits, Dangers & Side Effects
Based on my experience, it worked on me in terms of an energy boost, consistent pumps, and a good amount of focus. However, it has a few side effects:
Caffeine content: jitters, palpitations, sleep loss
Beta-alanine content: intense tingling feeling, burning sensation, itching. In general, here are what people say about Beyond Raw’s LIT Pre Workout:
“Tasted good but provided little in the way of energy.” -Robert
“Start tingling in 20 mins and get to work. This is the first pre that I've bought in over 2 years. It works.” -Joshua
“I have been taking almost daily for years and this is the first time I have felt sick and crashed. The flavor was not that good either.” -Beauty
“After taking this I feel like I can bench press a giraffe at least 3 times.” -Jake
Lit Pre Workout Vs. Cellucor C4
Another pre-workout that is closely compared to the LIT is the Cellucor C4 Pre-Workout.
Although this product claims to be America’s #1 selling product, I found it to be not as good as LIT because it only contains three main ingredients (Beta-Alanine, Creatine Nitrate and Arginine) with an Explosive Energy Blend which are all underdosed.
Along with that, a C4 PreWorkout product called C4 Extreme has been determined to contain a banned substance called Synephrine HCL, which gives Cellucor a not so good reputation in the market today.
You may still find C4 to be enticing but I recommended that you try other pre-workouts instead of this.
Other products you may want to consider trying is the LIT which is an advanced formula and RTD (ready-to-drink) energy drink version of LIT which comes in cans.
Each can contains all the ingredients similar to LIT except caffeine. You may also check on Reddit to find out what others are saying about benefits and other effective products.
Is Lit Pre-Workout Strong?
The goodness of a pre-workout is only as good as the contents of the product. That said, products of the same kind, with different nutrients, do possess some benefits. Also, there are multiple products out there. As such, it is only fair to seek out the best product on the market for your specific needs. The following article will help you identify a good product for your needs. What Is Lit Pre-Workout? You will have heard of popular commercial products like Pre-workout as the market has become so competitive, especially in the pre-workout supplements area.
Lit Pre-workout is a brand new name in this business and their line of products include a range of pre-workout supplements, mostly with different combination of ingredients, to achieve your specific athletic goals. The first name in their products is Pre-workout Bloodfire. This particular Pre-workout comes with a range of nutrients like caffeine, creatine, carnitine, BCAAs, and beta carotene and also serves as muscle fuel.
Final Words on Beyond Raw Lit Review
Beyond Raw is a good example of a solid and safe for pre-workout. It wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t use the product. In fact, if you are a beginner then this is definitely a good pre-workout to start with.
The product does seem to be well-received by bodybuilders and weightlifters as well, so it will absolutely work and there will be visible effects on you and your body when you use it.
This supplement is available for sale on Amazon and on its manufacturer’s website (GNC).
However, if the tingling sensation due to Beta-Alanine bothers you and you experience a lot of negative side-effects, then this is not for you. This product has other said-to-be side effects like causing the face to become red due to Niacin and jittery feelings due to Caffeine, which gives a negative impression to some users.
So, to make a final statement from my review, I can say that this product is a decent supplement only if the tingle and jitters is fine with you. Just like all other pre-workout products, not all will work for all. So you’ll have to take some trial and error to finally find the one that fits your preference.
As for me, I have found one that I consider proven and effective and is a known competitive brand in the market. It is the 4 Gauge.
4 Gauge, in comparison to Beyond Raw, also has no proprietary blends which means that there are no hidden ingredients and substances and even artificial sweeteners.
It is also reviewed and considered as a vegan supplement because of its all-natural ingredients.
Something that is also interesting about 4 Gauge is that its formula is updated regularly!
It has eyes and ears to what is new and effective to guarantee faster progress, better physique, and amazing workouts.
Above all, because of its natural content, its side effects are mostly rare and non-existent! Yes, you heard it right! There are no tingling or jittery sensations.
Its balanced Caffeine and Theanine content prevents stimulant-related side effects such as jitters, headaches, and nausea.
4 Gauge is the explosive supplement that is packed with all the right and high-quality nutrients needed for bodybuilding and workout. Its main components consist of the following:
L-CITRULLINE DL-MALATE (6000mg)
These is 4 Gauge’s main ingredients which help to improve work capacity or stamina. It also produces nitric acid for muscle function and helps to increase size gains.
CAFFEINE (150mg) and L-THEANINE (200mg)
We already know what caffeine does to the body. But when combined with L-theanine, good coffee is formulated as Theanine is a perfect match for caffeine. It counteracts Caffeine’s sharp edge effect and produces a smoother lift to allow better focus.
RHODIOLA ROSEA (100mg)
We know how workout goals are never easy. But this ingredient helps in fighting fatigue and depression and is vital in providing great motivation and mindset so you get the right push for every workout session.
BETA VULGARIS (300mg)
Beetroot adds up to muscle pumps to assure intensity during workouts.
Other additional ingredients of 4 Gauge are coconut water, Acetyl L-carnitine and Creatine monohydrate which is all prepared in FDA and cGMP certified facilities.
4 Gauge is a high-quality nutritional supplement that is body-friendly and consists of natural formula. Its powder form ensures faster penetration in the body, and it even comes in a fruity flavor!
Among the reviews I have found about 4 Gauge, it all highlights its proven effects and benefits:
“Since I have been using only 4 gauge as my pre-workout I have definitely made mass gains on all lifting and physical sports I do. It gives me a totally smooth and energizing power shortly after I take it.” – Ryan, USA
“What can I say, 4 Gauge blew me away. I felt so energized and powerful, but not shaky and itchy, it made me go a few extra sets in the squat rack that’s for sure!” -Michelle, UK
“Most pre-workouts I’ve tried to make it so I can’t sleep. But 4 Gauge provides the perfect balance of energy and focus. All this might sound too good to be true…but it’s not.” -Ricarda, Germany
So, if you want to experience better and take your supplement routine and workouts to the next level, then make sure to give this product a try and see what great things it can do to you!
