4 Gauge Pre-Workout Review (2024) | Does This Supplement Work?

  • Combination of NO proprietary formula, Clinically Dosed & Clean Ingredients (with a few exceptions) has been a  part of the 4 Gauge acceptance within a fitness community.
  • Combination of Caffeine Anhydrous & L-Theanine (energy and focus without jittery feelings), L-Citrulline Dl-Malate + Beetroot extract (Nitric oxide level boosters), Acetyl-L-Carnitine (lowering fatigue and muscle damage) strike a balance between focus, strength, muscle pumps and energy.
  • One study showed that post-workout supplementation of 50 mg L-theanine accelerates mental regeneration after physical exercise.
  • One of the ingredients is Rhodiola Rosea, is an adaptogen plant which has been shown to promote fatty acids utilisation, to improve antioxidant function, and to improve body resistance to strenuous physical efforts.
  • Supplement is lacking in creatine (Just 1000 Mg: Should be 5000 MG). Even though it’s not a Vital Ingredient in pre-workouts, if you prefer creatine in your regiment, you should supplement it in addition to 4 Gauge (.)

4 Gauge Pre Workout Ingredients Review

4 Gauge contains only natural ingredients, which easily sets it apart from many of its competitors. With a carefully designed formula and scientifically-backed and dosed ingredients, this supplement is superior to many others.

Red Beet (beta vulgaris)

This ingredient helps to boost stamina, overall performance, and nitric oxide production in the body. Nitric oxide is beneficial for athletes as it increases blood flow to the muscles.

That means your muscles get more oxygen and nutrients delivered, which not only makes them more effective during a workout, but it also enables them to recover faster from exercise.

Rhodiola Rosea

A European herb, this component has been shown to improve overall athletic performance, endurance and strength. It can also help to improve mood and minimize fatigue.

L-Citrulline DL-Malate

Another nitric oxide booster, citrulline, has been shown to improve blood flow (opens up your blood vessels), boost muscle gains, and reduce muscle recovery time. It also increases physical performance in high-intensity exercise.

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine is a common and very popular ingredient in bodybuilding supplements because it has been shown to improve athletic performance, increase muscle strength and size. What’s more, it’ll help you train longer and more intensely by adding fuel to every single of your workouts.

Coconut PowderCoconut Water Powder

Coconut water is full of electrolytes that help to rehydrate your body, which is extremely important after intense and regular workouts.

Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine has a number of beneficial effects in pre-workouts. It helps to promote the fat-burning process, and increase mental performance, and motivation. Since 4 Gauge contains only 150mg of caffeine per serving, this supplement won’t cause any crashes or jitters!

Acetyl L-Carnitine

An amino acid, this compound helps to increase the fat burning process and boost you during the workout.

It also contains (Caffeine & L-Theanine) for lasting endurance and focus!

 Possible Side-Effects

The supplement is generally safe to use for healthy adults. The formula is natural and free of soy, artificial flavor and sweeteners, gluten, and wheat.

That means that the product is less likely to cause any side effects as there are no nasty ingredients included in the formula.

4 Gauge Side Effects

Also, the caffeine levels are low compared to some other products on the market, which means that the likelihood of you experience jitters or crashes is very low (unless you’re generally intolerant to caffeine).

In case you’re allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients, you may experience side effects, but in that case, it makes more sense for you to double-check the label and make sure to know what causes allergies for you.

Main Benefits of 4 Gauge Compared to Other Supplements:

4 Gauge’s main goal is to provide you with clean energy that boosts your overall workout and enables you to go that extra mile in the gym.

Instead of creating a stimulant-loaded formula, the Roar Ambitions brand focused on producing an effective supplement that would bring results and none of the drawbacks.

FDA ApprovedThis product wants you to increase your potential, and it will help you get there.

I tried 4Gauge because a client was curious whether it was actually any good before wasting money on a poor product loaded with proprietary blend and poor ingredients that would cause more headaches than muscle pumps.

I was surprised to discover that the brand is both cGMP and FDA approved.

Next, the list of ingredients was clean, and it seemed like they knew what they were doing. I decided to give it a try, and I only ordered one shell, not to waste extra money. I was very skeptical.

And one single serving of 4 Gauge had me hooked. To this day, I love the explosive power and laser focus is gives me while using only natural ingredients in a transparent formula.

And these are only the beginning. I normally recommend it to my clients and friends, so I did a little survey and compiled a list of all the reasons how 4 Gauge benefits our workouts compared to other supplements:

clean surge focus and motivation

improved strength, stamina, and performance

Natural and carefully designed formula

contains smart caffeine blend

promotes skin-tearing pumps every workout

boosts powder for bodybuilding

suitable for amateurs and professional athletes

minimal 5g of calories per serving

works for women and men

no unpleasant side effects

great for morning and evening workouts

the powder mixes well

How Soon Before Exercises You Should Take 4 Gauge Pre-Workout?

For the best results, drink 4 Gague 25-30 minutes before you hit the gym training sessions. I’ve done some testing and tweaking to see what works best for me, so I’d advise you to do the same.

In my experience, the ingredients begin working fully after 25 minutes and it lasts for about an hour. It doesn’t become as quickly effective as 12 gauge pre-workout (where effectiveness is a matter of minutes), but once it does, your workout will never be the same.

Is 4 Gauge Pre-Workout Vegan?

4 Gauge can be used by vegans too as it doesn’t contain any dairy nor animal-derived ingredients.

Is this Supplement a Good Fat Burner?

Yes, 4 Gauge is one of the best fat burners. Ingredients in 4 Gauge were created to support and promote the fat-burning process. The supplement doesn’t have any appetite suppressants, but the blend of Acetyl-L-Carnitine, L-Theanine, and caffeine is effective when it comes to weight loss.

It melts the fat and helps you achieve the toned body you want.

How Many Servings in It? 4Gauge Dosage / Usage.

Using 4 Gauge is pretty straightforward. The instructions on the label are easy to follow. Here’s what you have to do:

4 Gauge DesignMix one serving of the supplement with 0.1 fl. oz. (300-350ml) water.

To make the powder more palatable, you can mix it with orange or apple juice.

You can mix the powder in a glass; you won’t need a shaker as it dissolves easily and quickly. It has a slightly red color.

Optionally, you can double the dose if you need an extra boost.

How many servings? There are 20 servings per shell.

4 Gauge Pre-Workout: Taste and Flavors

When it comes to flavor, this supplement is pretty simple. There’s only one flavor available: Fruit Blast. To be honest with you, it is not the best on the market, but I’ve tried much worse!

The flavor is bearable, fruity, and sweet-ish. Also slightly sour, but you’ll chug it down with ease.

The natural sweeteners work well and you’ll be relieved to know there are no horrible artificial sweeteners in the aftertaste of this supplement.

Can You Take 4Gauge Before Cardio?

Yes, it is perfectly well for you to take it before cardio. It’ll keep you focused and motivated during the workout, increase your stamina, and also help you burn fat at the same time.

Should I Cycle It?

On the 4Gague official website, the company suggests not taking this product for about ONE week and to do it every 6 to 8 weeks. This stops you from developing a tolerance to the product’s ingredients.

Packages, Prices & Where To Buy It

One of the few downsides to 4 Gauge is that you can order their products only through the official website. While this isn’t very practical, they also enable you to pay safely with Amazon or Paypal.

What’s more, ordering through their website enables you more security; also, you’ll know that the product comes directly from the company and not some online retailer with fake products.

Customer Reviews / My Personal Experience

Choosing and discovering effective products in my line of occupation is a must. I have been in the business for years, tried numerous pre-workout supplements, and talked to my colleagues and clients about it.

Whenever someone discovers a new product, there’re already passing it around the gym, giving us a try and a test run.

Four GaugeIt was no different with 4 Gauge. I did research before I tried it, and the positive testimonials convinced me enough (along with a clean formula) that it may be worth trying it.

With the quick effects, I was able to notice soon after taking it, 4 Gauge has turned into the go-to pre-work that I use regularly and recommend to people I coach.

After I started using this supplement, I was glad to notice there were others out there who shared my belief of it being a superior option on the market. I’ve asked around and here’s what my clients and other users of 4 Gauge are saying about it:

I’ve been looking for a supplement that would give me energy and motivation to go to the gym. I am working long hours, and I was dead tired by the end of the day.

I also gained weight and lost self-confidence. I tried working out with my husband’s supplements, but the horrible doses of caffeine just didn’t help at all. I discovered 4 Gauge by accident; my coworker said I could give it a try, and I was thrilled to discover that it’s this pre-workout is also suitable for women.

I started taking it regularly before going to the gym, and I have more energy, when I get home in the evening. My husband keeps saying it is a great change that I made. I feel more confident especially after losing weight too” (Sarah, 31)

I’m a personal trainer, and I was looking for a product I would recommend to clients. But I needed something with clean ingredients that would be suitable for the widest public possible: different workouts, men, women, and even vegans.

I was surprised to notice 4 Gauge had all that covered. I now happily recommend it to clients, no matter what type of workouts they’re into. It works well for a number of workouts, and they can all use this supplement while training without me.” (Nick, 28)

After becoming a father, I completely forgot all about working out and keeping fit. I felt like I entered a new stage of my life, and nothing else mattered. I used to work out a lot before that, hitting the gym almost daily, building muscle strength and endurance.

A few years passed by, and my baby was a toddler. In the meantime, I gained some weight, lost stamina, and got a bit lazy.  You know what it is like when you have kids! All of a sudden, I noticed that I couldn’t keep up with my kid; he was running high on energy, always around, always doing things.

At that point, I realized I have to do something for myself so that I can be a better father and stay healthy too. I changed the menu and decided to revisit the gym.  I tried a few supplements, but most caused side effects I couldn’t really afford to deal with.

My personal trainer recommended 4 Gauge to me when I was ready to give up and go home. And I was amazed; this supplement gives me clear focus from day one; no matter how tired I am, it helps me get going and push through the workout with skin-splitting pumps and clean energy that helps me stay focused and motivated. In addition, I also take whey protein. (Michael, 37)

What is the Most Dangerous Pre-Workout?

What if I told you I didn’t give my pre-workout a single penny of my money? You’d probably wonder if the product was real or not, and whether or not there was some sort of publicity stunt behind it. As it turns out, this is the truth. Here are the seven pre-workout supplements I am convinced are the most dangerous. L1 Technologies Hybrid 200%. Hybrid is a hybrid of a pure mTOR product and a pure thermogenetic product. Although it is supposedly derived from Hyaluronic Acid, the claims about its effects haven’t been proven.

And in fact, they’re almost comical. Here’s the typical line: “Hyaluronic Acid is synthesized from the amino acid Lysine (L-arginine) by means of the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase. This hydroxytyrosine contains a molecular weight of about 3.5 kDa. This molecule can be transported into the cell without being degraded. It is secreted into the plasma and can be metabolized by the liver to urea, and from there is excreted into the urine.” As if that’s supposed to convince anyone.

Can a 17 Year Old Take Pre-Workout?

Yes, at least one of the three major supplement companies makes a protein powder that’s actually packed with pre-workout ingredients that the body can take in to produce its natural energy and anabolic effects. The Performance food line comes in two flavors; Chocolate and Vanilla, which come in ready-to-drink bottles, as well as capsules, and whey and casein protein blends, which require preparation (though the protein brands do not recommend this) so that the body absorbs them. What are the concerns?

None at this time. But keep in mind that there’s a long list of ingredients in the Performance protein line, with names that have already been pulled from the market for harmful side effects. “Some ingredients in the best-selling powder form, GNC Combat Energy ($20 for 30 capsules) have been linked to irregular heartbeats.

How Long Does 4 Gauge Pre-Workout Last?

It should take about 24 hours for a 4 Gauge Pre-Workout, which will mean that you can get at least seven workouts out of it. While I get the impression that a few of the higher-end supplements will last a little longer than this, based on the reviews that I have found online, you will likely be able to use it for a couple of weeks. Why Do I Choose it? For someone who wants to maximize his workout results, this is the pre-workout that I suggest you choose.

I have only personally tried two brands of 4Gauge (Devil and Shakeology) and the 4Gauge that I have tried have all been exceptional in providing long-lasting pre-workout. Some people have made the mistake of buying a low-quality product, which may provide a one or two-day workout for them, but nothing more. I recommend you go with the name brands and they seem to be of better quality. What Is the Difference Between Devil And Shakeology? Based on the name of the pre-workout, you would assume that the two brands are the same.

Is Pre-Workout Good for Beginners?

The point at which you can do both CrossFit workouts at least 3-4 days a week can be determined by your fitness level and previous training history. At the beginning of the fitness journey, you may find that you cannot even do a single back squat yet, and you may have difficulty doing a single deadlift, it can be frustrating and disheartening.

However, with a little persistence, and guidance from the experts, you will start seeing improvement in just a few weeks. It is important to remain consistent with the exercises you do, which will give your muscles the support and motivation they need. Although the workouts are different for everybody, most of them are similar in the sense that they require a lot of heavy lifting, lots of cardio, and some kind of weight training.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 4 Scoops of Pre-Workout Good?

Consuming four scoops of pre-workout is not recommended and can have potential risks and adverse effects. Pre-workout supplements typically come with recommended serving sizes, which are carefully formulated to provide an optimal balance of key ingredients for enhancing exercise performance. Exceeding the recommended serving size, such as consuming four scoops, can lead to excessive intake of stimulants, such as caffeine, which may result in symptoms like increased heart rate, jitters, anxiety, and digestive issues.

Moreover, excessive consumption of best pre-workout supplements can lead to an imbalance of ingredients and potential toxicity. Some ingredients, like certain vitamins or herbal extracts, can be harmful when taken in excessive amounts. It is crucial to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and consult with a healthcare professional before significantly deviating from the recommended serving size.

Individual tolerance to pre-workout supplements can also vary, and what may be appropriate for one person may be excessive for another. It is important to start with the recommended serving size and assess individual responses before considering any adjustments.

Remember, moderation and responsible use of supplements are key to ensuring safety and maximizing the potential benefits without risking your health.

Is Dry Scooping Pre-Unhealthy?

Dry scooping pre-workout is generally considered an unhealthy practice and can pose risks to your health. Dry scooping refers to consuming powdered pre-workout supplements without mixing them with water or any other liquid. This method bypasses the intended usage instructions and can lead to various issues.

Firstly, consuming dry powder can cause irritation to the throat and esophagus, leading to discomfort, coughing, or choking. Additionally, without proper dilution in liquid, the concentrated powder may result in gastrointestinal distress, such as nausea, stomach cramps, or digestive issues.

Moreover, pre-workout supplements often contain ingredients like stimulants (e.g., caffeine) or other active compounds that are meant to be gradually released and absorbed in the body. By dry scooping, the absorption process may be disrupted or altered, potentially leading to an uneven or excessive release of these substances, increasing the risk of adverse effects like rapid heartbeat, increased blood pressure, or nervousness.

To ensure the safety and optimal utilization of pre-workout supplements, it is recommended to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, which typically involve mixing the powder with an appropriate amount of water or another liquid.

This allows for proper dilution, easier ingestion, and controlled absorption of the supplement’s ingredients. Consulting with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian can provide further guidance on the appropriate usage and dosage of pre-workout supplements based on individual needs and health considerations.

Does 4 Gauge Have Creatine?

Yes, 4 Gauge is a pre-workout supplement that contains creatine as one of its key ingredients. Creatine is a naturally occurring compound found in small amounts in various foods and synthesized in the body, primarily in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. It is a popular and well-researched ergogenic aid known for its potential to enhance exercise performance and increase muscle strength and power.

Creatine functions by replenishing adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy currency of cells, especially during high-intensity, short-duration activities like weightlifting and sprinting. When you engage in intense exercise, your muscles require rapid bursts of energy, and creatine helps by donating phosphate groups to ADP (adenosine diphosphate), converting it back into ATP. This ATP regeneration allows for sustained muscle contractions, delaying fatigue, and potentially leading to better workout performance.

4 Gauge and similar pre-workout supplements often contain creatine in various forms, such as creatine monohydrate, creatine citrate, or creatine nitrate. These formulations aim to improve creatine’s solubility and absorption, ensuring that it reaches muscle cells effectively.

However, it’s essential to note that the creatine content in 4 Gauge or any pre-workout supplement can vary among brands and formulations. Always read the product label to confirm the type and amount of creatine included. Additionally, individual responses to creatine may vary, with some people experiencing significant performance benefits while others may not notice as much of an effect.

Before starting any new supplement, including 4 Gauge, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications, to ensure it aligns with your fitness goals and overall health.

Is C4 Pre Workout for Beginners?

C4 pre-workout is generally suitable for beginners who are looking to enhance their exercise performance and energy levels. This popular supplement is designed to provide a boost in energy, focus, and endurance, making it particularly appealing to those starting their fitness journey. The key active ingredients in C4 include beta-alanine, creatine nitrate, arginine alpha-ketoglutarate, and caffeine, each playing a distinct role in promoting improved workout performance.

Beta-alanine is known for buffering lactic acid, which helps delay muscle fatigue during intense exercise. Creatine nitrate contributes to increased strength and power output, supporting more effective workouts. Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate plays a role in nitric oxide production, promoting enhanced blood flow to the muscles for improved nutrient delivery and muscle pump. Caffeine, a well-known stimulant, boosts alertness and energy levels.

While C4 can be suitable for beginners, it’s crucial to approach its usage with caution. Beginners should start with a lower dose to assess their tolerance, as sensitivity to stimulants can vary. Additionally, individuals with certain health conditions or those sensitive to caffeine should consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating C4 into their routine.

It’s essential to recognize that pre-workout supplements like C4 are not a substitute for a well-balanced diet and proper hydration. They are meant to complement a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise routine. As with any supplement, moderation and individual tolerance should guide its usage, and beginners should prioritize understanding their body’s response to these ingredients while gradually integrating C4 into their fitness regimen.

Is C4 Bad for Your Kidney?

C4, commonly known as creatine nitrate, is a dietary supplement often used by individuals seeking to enhance athletic performance, particularly in activities requiring short bursts of intense energy, such as weightlifting or sprinting. Creatine itself is a naturally occurring compound found in the body, primarily in the muscles, where it plays a crucial role in energy production during high-intensity exercise.

The concern regarding the impact of C4 on kidney health stems from the fact that creatine is metabolized into creatinine, a waste product that is filtered out of the blood by the kidneys and excreted in urine. Elevated levels of creatinine in the blood can be indicative of impaired kidney function, as the kidneys may struggle to adequately filter and remove waste products.

However, numerous scientific studies have investigated the potential effects of creatine supplementation, including C4, on kidney function, and the consensus thus far is that for healthy individuals without preexisting kidney conditions, moderate use of creatine supplements is unlikely to cause harm to the kidneys.

One study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition examined the effects of creatine supplementation on renal function in resistance-trained athletes. The researchers found no significant differences in markers of kidney function between the group that supplemented with creatine and the placebo group over a 12-week period.

Another study published in the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine similarly concluded that short-term creatine supplementation did not adversely affect kidney function in healthy individuals when used within recommended dosages.

It’s important to note that these studies focused on creatine monohydrate, the most commonly studied form of creatine supplementation. While C4 contains creatine nitrate, which combines creatine with nitrate, there is limited specific research on its effects on kidney function. However, given that the primary concern relates to creatine metabolism and not the additional nitrate component, it is reasonable to extrapolate that the findings regarding creatine monohydrate would apply to C4 as well.

Nevertheless, individuals with preexisting kidney conditions should exercise caution when considering any dietary supplement, including C4. Consulting with a healthcare professional before beginning supplementation is always advisable, as they can provide personalized recommendations based on individual health status and medical history.

In summary, while concerns have been raised regarding the impact of creatine supplementation, including C4, on kidney health, current evidence suggests that for healthy individuals without preexisting kidney conditions, moderate use of creatine supplements is unlikely to cause harm to kidney function.
